Teachers

Jennifer Bonadio, CYT, LMT, E-RYT-500

My teaching has evolved from decades of study and practice in the healing arts as a massage therapist and health educator. My experience as a clinical massage therapist working with injury rehabilitation, trauma and chronic pain has given me a deep understanding and respect of the body and it's language. My calling as a teacher blossoms from a lifelong devotion to the spiritual path and a commitment to my own personal practice, growth and healing. I have profound gratitude to the teachings that I have received and all that guides me. It is my joy and honor to share that with my students to guide them to recognize the innate potential of the harmony of body, mind and spirit and awaken their own wisdom-heart.

I was trained and certified as a yoga teacher by the
American Viniyoga Institute, a deep and dedicated transmission of the lineage of Krishnamacharya by Gary Kraftsow and Mirka Scalco-Kraftsow. I began teaching movement and yoga 23 years ago, but was not initiated into it's true depth until I was led to Viniyoga after a yoga injury 16 years ago. The guidance and training I received inspired me to continue to explore the healing and creative potential of the Yoga tradition and has complemented my 18 years of experience with body/mind care as a healing practitioner.  The combination gives me a deep and rich well to draw from as a yoga teacher and therapist to offer my students and clients support and guidance on their journey of growth, healing and personal evolution. Maui is an international visitor destination for wellness and healing, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to train students from all over the world.

The traditions of Yoga have so much profound and practical wisdom to offer us in our modern world. Yoga is a living tool, adaptable to our ever-evolving human needs, as well as an invitation to develop our highest potentials. We are each unique, and the practices of yoga are as creative and alive as we are - that is their beauty! This is what inspires me most about yoga -  it can be just what we need when we need it. I am continually moved and amazed at the power of practice to heal and transform lives in deep and meaningful ways. We have innate and precious wisdom and capacities for healing and joy within us; yoga helps us to claim and cultivate our gifts and be all that we can be.

"To me, Jennifer's unique grace and gifts as a teacher stem from authenticity of being. Beyond her vast field of knowledge and the depth of her training and personal practice...she doesn't just teach Yoga, she lives it...in and beyond the studio. She doesn't just express the heart, she truthfully abides there and embodies it. I have learned much from her and look forward to continuing to do so. She's the real thing."

      and intelligence that guides, maintains
      and energizes the body.

Discover that current and stay with it."

Linda Prosche', BA, CYT, E-RYT500      YogaCanCure.com

Many years in the field of human development have brought me to the mindset and the skills necessary for a simple and fulfilling yoga lifestyle. For me, this life is a daily unfolding into awareness - a path of living harmoniously with all that arises. That is the essence of what I teach  - the practice of awareness. It seems we teach what we most need to learn. The depth of the spiritual teachings of Yoga, through breath and meditation, have helped me to come to know the inner stillness that is the source of creativity and magic that inspire my relationships, my teaching and my life.

My yoga path began in 1986 after a skiing injury led me to drink from the healing nectar of Yoga practice. I continued my education at the Kriya Yoga Temple in Chicago, completed a certification in Tai Chi Chih, and began teaching in 1987. The call to health and wellness led me to the study of Shiatsu to further deepen my understanding of the Body/Mind. My work as a Yoga Therapist blossomed from there with the co-creation of Developmental Yoga with a Physical Therapist friend. I was certified in Baptiste Power of Yoga and my work expanded to yoga and wellness programs in colleges, medical clinics and community wellness centers.

The call to teaching and the joy of movement was brought to a shocking halt in 2006 when my husband was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer. I can only look back now to see the many gifts that debilitating disease and his death brought into my life. I would never have experienced the power of pranayama and the importance of being in the moment as keys to my survival. I am now able to recognize the seamless devotion and the practice of caregiving as a Yoga in itself - the tapas and the gift of just waking up everyday. Through this experience I continued my training in Viniyoga with Gary Kraftsow and Mirka Scalco-Kraftsow in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, which has deepened my understanding of yoga as a way of living, a way of dying - the Art of Life itself.

What makes Linda a great teacher is the compassion and tender vulnerability she brings to every student and every moment. She watches and senses into what is needed by each student. She speaks from her heart and transformation happens. Her classes inspire me and I love being around her!
